Dacia, known for its value-driven vehicles, is expanding its lineup with the Bigster, a new affordable SUV designed with larger families in mind. According to automotive experts at H + H Auto + Komfort, the Bigster will offer a seven-seat configuration, ample cargo space, and a range of family-friendly features. The SUV is expected to hit European markets in 2025.

Spacious and Practical

Measuring 4.6 meters in length, the Bigster will be one of the largest SUVs in its class, providing generous space for passengers and cargo. Despite its size, Dacia is committed to keeping the Bigster affordable, aiming to offer it "at the price of a vehicle from the segment below," as stated by the company.

Rugged and Authentic Design

The Bigster's design emphasizes authenticity and functionality. It features clean lines, a futuristic front end with LED headlights, and a commanding driving position. The interior will be spacious and practical, with recycled materials used for trim elements.

Electrified Powertrain

The Bigster is expected to be powered by a 1.8-liter gasoline engine utilizing the Atkinson cycle for improved efficiency. Hybrid variants, including both self-charging and plug-in hybrid options, are likely to be offered. The plug-in hybrid could achieve an electric range of 48 to 56 kilometers (WLTP).

Safety and Technology

While the Bigster will come equipped with essential safety features, Dacia has indicated it will not pursue a Euro NCAP 5-star rating. The focus remains on affordability, and the SUV will prioritize essential technologies that customers truly need.

Pricing and Availability

The Bigster is slated to launch in Germany in the first half of 2025. The base model is estimated to cost around €24,000, while the top-of-the-line hybrid variant could be priced around €36,000, maintaining a 20-30% price gap compared to mainstream SUVs.

"Dacia is poised to shake up the family SUV segment with the Bigster," says Alex Wind, automotive expert at H + H Auto + Komfort. "By offering a spacious, practical, and electrified SUV at an affordable price, Dacia is catering to the needs of growing families without compromising on value."
