Meet the DreamWorks crew from Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda and How to Train Your Dragon along the way.

Discover the Magic of Shrek World is a funny, interactive and immersive walk-through attraction. It sends-up fairytale tropes to connect with audiences and appeal to both adults and children alike.

Take a ride on the 4D flying bus, visit Shrek’s swamp, Rumpelstiltskin’s Carriage and more in this bonkers adventure. Meet the DreamWorks crew from Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda and How to Train Your Dragon along the way.

Donkey’s 4D Flying Bus

Guests are welcomed by Princess Fiona who Shrek World invites them to hop on board Donkey’s magic flying bus – with him in the driver’s seat of course! This immersive experience uses multi-sensory effects and new DreamWorks 3D animation to transport guests to Far Far Away.

During the trip guests visit Shrek’s Swamp, Drury Lane, The Muffin Man’s House and a Mirror Maze of Insanity. They also meet characters from other DreamWorks films such as Toothless (How to Train Your Dragon), Po in the Valley of Peace and the mischievous penguins of Madagascar.

The tour lasts about 90 minutes. Buggies/strollers are not allowed. The SEA LIFE London Aquarium is nearby for those looking to make a day of it!

The Swamp

The swamp is a murky, wild place full of wild plants. If someone says, "It's time to drain the swamp," it means that they are against government corruption.

Guests will visit Shrek’s swamp and his tree trunk cottage, where they can interact with Princess Fiona, Donkey and other beloved characters from the movies. They will also meet favourites from Kung Fu Panda, How to Train Your Dragon and Madagascar.

Beware of Rumpelstiltskin, who has sent the witches after you! Luckily, the local Fortune Teller is on hand to help you escape them. For a fee, of course!.

Drury Lane

In 1812 Theatre Royal Drury Lane opened and it has been home to many a show throughout the years. Today it is an all-day destination for entertainment, afternoon tea, dining, drinking and art & culture in the heart of Covent Garden and London’s West End.

Despite its age, the theatre has never lost its reputation for visually staggering set-pieces that have astounded audiences and kept raising the bar. And it was here that Cameron Mackintosh launched the dazzling musical My Fair Lady (1958-63), starring Julie Andrews, Rex Harrison and Stanley Holloway. It was an unprecedented success that gave rise to the expression ‘The Greatest Hit of All Time’.

The Muffin Man’s House

Once you’ve collected the special ingredients you need for your magic spell it’s time to cook it up in the Muffin Man’s cauldron. Along the way you can meet Cinderella, see inside Esmeralda’s crystal ball and help free Pinocchio from the Wheel of Torture!

This is a tricky mirror maze with tight corners so if you don’t want to do this part of the experience speak to a character and they can help you find an alternative route. Once you get through here you enter the final area where you can meet Shrek, Princess Fiona and some of DreamWorks latest films like Madagascar and Kung Fu Panda for a photo opportunity.

The Magic Mirror Maze

Once upon a time (in 2015), in a land far, far away, Shrek and friends came to life on London’s Southbank. Presented by Merlin, the unique Shrek Adventure is a walkthrough and simulator attraction that combines the thrill of a ride with the experience of a tour.

As you travel through the glitzy, dazzling and hilarious Shrek Adventure you’ll visit Cinderella in her swamp home, bump into Puss in Boots in the swamp and rescue Pinocchio from a wheel of torture. You’ll also navigate the amazing mirrored maze, which is one of the world’s largest maze attractions. It’s mind-blowing, with new twists and turns around every corner.

The Poison Apple Pub

The Poison Apple Pub is a shady and dangerous tavern where villains and ‘less respectable’ characters gather to drink alcoholic beverages and conduct shady business. It is the favourite haunt of the swashbuckling Puss in Boots.

In here you will meet the Fortune Teller and try to escape from a group of nasty witches who Rumpelstiltskin sent your way. You will also have a chance to spin the wheel of fortune and see if you can win some gruesome prizes!

The entire experience takes around an hour or so and is a really fun and immersive family attraction. We loved meeting all the characters and exploring the various sets (we especially liked the wishing well) and 4D experiences.

Rumpelstiltskin’s Carriage

From a 4D bus ride to the swamp to a fortune told by a muffin man, there are more laughs than you can shake a Muffin at on this madcap adventure. Guests will also have the opportunity to interact with Princess Fiona, Donkey, Puss in Boots and Gingy.

In an alternate timeline, Rumpelstiltskin gives Shrek the ability to be feared again in exchange for one day of his previous life. However, Shrek is weary of being a celebrity and longs for his swamp home and family. So, he makes a deal with Rumpelstiltskin to swap back. But it doesn’t go quite as planned!

The Finale

The Shrek movies have given birth to a cultural phenomenon that rivals the likes of Harry Potter and Star Tourist Wars in some ways. However, after the fourth installment Shrek Forever After, the franchise seemed to have reached its end.

Conclusion

Shrek has become a domesticated family ogre with Princess Fiona and their triplets. But longing for the days of terrorizing villagers and autographing pitchforks, he signs a contract with smooth-talking Rumpelstiltskin. He is whisked away into a twisted alternate reality where ogres are hunted, Rumpelstiltskin is the king and Puss in Boots is obese. He soon realizes he traded his own day for it all.
