DDT, ddt full form which stands for Dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane, is a chemical originally used to eradicate insects. It was commonly employed in agriculture to control pests, and was also used to prevent lice infestations and manage malaria-carrying mosquitoes. Although the United States discontinued its use in 1972 due to environmental and health concerns, DDT is still used in some other countries. One of the major issues with DDT and similar chemicals is their persistence in the environment; they can remain in the air and accumulate in the bodies of animals for extended periods.
