Guy Fieri and His Early Life

Guy Ramsay Ferry was born in Columbus, Ohio, in January 1968. His parents are Lewis James Ferry and Penelope Anne. During his high school, Fieri was a foreign exchange student in Chantilly, France. At that time, he developed his love for food. Later, in 1990, he graduated with a degree in hotel management from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

In fact, it was his dream to study in Chantilly, France. So, he started selling soft pretzels from a three-wheeled bicycle cart and after six years he earned money to study abroad.

After graduation, Fieri worked at a Stouffer’s restaurant in Long Beach, California. After working for three years, he became Louise’s Trattoria’s district manager. Later in 2013, he got a Daytime Emmy Award.

Fieri Enjoyed Cooking

Fieri loved cooking all along. In middle school, he sold pretzels, but after studying for a year abroad, he realized that he loves food and cooking. He had been staying at a boarding house. Thus, while studying at the University of Nevada, he worked as a flambé captain and busboy, to gain more experience in the world of cooking.

Guy Fieri, only at 12, started making beef jerky and smoked cheese and started dabbling in barbecue. He dreamed of competing at the American Royal. Thus, he prepared himself by enrolling at a two-day barbecue camp taught by Lola Rice.

There, Guy won respect after cooking a huge vat of pasta for everyone. There, he met a pharmacist, a truck driver, an architect, and a computer tech. All these four people did not have much in common, but they all loved smoked meat. Hence, they formed the Motley ‘Que, a barbeque crew that compete together. Later, they won the American Royal.

In 2012, Guy received the honor of being inducted into the Barbeque Hall of Fame. This made him quite famous around the world. Also, in 2019, Guy Fieri became the third chef to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
